Sedgley Woods Disc Golf Course
East Fairmount Park, Philadelphia, PA 19121
Established in 1977 and one of the oldest permanent pole-hoe disc golf courses in the world, Sedgley Woods is a 27 hole disc golf course located in Fairmount Park, just a few blocks from OTTO. It is open to the public year-round from sunup to sundown. Best of all, it’s always free to play, so come on out!
The Discovery Center
3401 Reservoir Drive, Philadelphia, PA 19121
The Discovery Center is a fantastic nature center in East Fairmount Park, next to a century-old abandoned reservoir that has become a unique wildlife sanctuary and an important stopover location for birds migrating along the Atlantic Flyway. Operated by Philadelphia Outward Bound School and the National Audubon Society, the Discovery Center is both a center for active learning expeditions and a facility for research and science-based conservation projects and educational programs for the Philadelphia region.
Boxer’s Trail
East Fairmount Park, Philadelphia, PA 19121
Boxer’s Trail is the stuff of legends; Joe Frazier once trained here. The 3.8-mile trail winds through old-growth woods and climbs up an outcropping of stone along the east side of Kelly Drive, providing a unique vantage point of the river below. It’s a great trail for both runners and Instagramers looking for an interesting an visual adventure.
